As I was rummaging through my hard drive for old photos and videos, I suddenly stumbled upon an album full of photos of my friend and I staying at a bunch of hotels. That was a few years ago when I was still in my third year of college. While other kids partied or drank the night away, we were hotel-hopping around town and traveling on a budget together even though we weren’t attending the same school. I used to work part-time as a tutor just so I could afford to travel. Talking about it now, I really missed doing all that!
Anyway, it’s a waste to leave those memories hidden away in a storage device, so I decided to put them into good use and share to other people my wonderful experiences. I’m going to start off with our very first hotel, or in this case a serviced apartment, Ascott Makati.
We booked their 1-Bedroom Classic with breakfast through Agoda. That’s where we always find great hotel deals because they have some really awesome rates. The 72 sqm. room features a kitchen, a dining area, a living room, and a separate bedroom with a queen-size bed.
This is how the inside looks like upon entering the room. If you go the left room, that is where you’ll find the kitchen. Further up is the dining area and the living room.
This shot was taken from the kitchen area. As you can see, a round dining table is placed between the kitchen and living room, There’s a flat-screen television and two speakers on the floor in front of the sofa chairs. Entering the room on the right leads you straight to the bedroom.
Before we go to the bedroom, I’d like to show you the view from when I’m standing at the corner of the living room, right in front of the curtains. Can you see those door beside the kitchen? Behind those closed doors is where you’ll find the washing machine and dryer.
This is the bedroom, and in front of the bed is the usual flat-screen television, DVD player, and working desk. The room looks way better in actual. Sadly, the photos did not give it any justice.
Inside the kitchen, you’ll find there the sink, the stove, the microwave, and the refrigerator. All the basic equipment you need to cook, store, and heat food.
Too bad I wasn’t able to take a photo of the bathroom. When searching through different hotels, one of the most important criteria for me is a nice and clean bathroom, preferably with a bathtub.
But I was able to take a photo of the walk-in closet! So many doors! *drool*
They even have an iPod dock! Definitely one of my favorites in the bedroom!
Next, I want to show you the food we ate for breakfast.
We went there during December so they have this really cute snow globe placed in the center of the table.
Well, that’s about it! I hope you enjoyed the photo tour inside the room of Ascott Makati Residence’s 1-Bedroom Classic! It’s a good choice to stay here because Glorietta is literally beside it. Greenbelt and Landmark are just a few blocks away as well. There’s tons of restaurants to choose from and it’s very easy to find a taxi here.
Just a little side note, you have to ride an elevator up to find the lobby / front desk. So basically, you’ll enter through a glass door at the ground floor and ride an elevator. I can’t remember if it was second or third floor. I stayed here years ago so I don’t know if they made any recent renovations or upgrades to their rooms and facilities.
What do you think? Would you like to book a room at Ascott Makati? There’s a lot of great hotels around this area so it’ll be pretty difficult to decide, especially since Fairmont Hotel and Raffles Suites just opened nearby not too long ago.
