A few months ago, I had a simple Sunday date with my sister. I initially invited her out because I was hoping we could go to Red Box and sing some new songs, which we did. Yay! But besides that, it was also because I wanted to have dinner at Krazy Garlik. I used to pass by Krazy Garlik in Greenbelt 5 a lot of times before, but I never ate there because most of my friends don’t like garlicky food.
Before I start, I would just like to mention that Krazy Garlik is one of the restaurants from The Bistro Group. Some of my favorite restaurants from The Bistro Group includes TGI Friday’s, Italianni’s, and Bulgogi Brothers. I have yet to try Modern Shanghai and Village Tavern. On the other hand, my dining experience with Fish & Co. and Watami were rather average, but not bad. I really liked Tonkatsu by Terazawa as well.
As I was rummaging through my hard drive for old photos and videos, I suddenly stumbled upon an album full of photos of my friend and I staying at a bunch of hotels. That was a few years ago when I was still in my third year of college. While other kids partied or drank the night away, we were hotel-hopping around town and traveling on a budget together even though we weren’t attending the same school. I used to work part-time as a tutor just so I could afford to travel. Talking about it now, I really missed doing all that!
Anyway, it’s a waste to leave those memories hidden away in a storage device, so I decided to put them into good use and share to other people my wonderful experiences. I’m going to start off with our very first hotel, or in this case a serviced apartment, Ascott Makati.
I can’t deny it. Steak is definitely one of my favorite food! I’ve tried a lot of different steak restaurants since I was a kid. Some of them were House of Minis, Fire Lake Grill, Steak Town, and Santis Delicatessen. I tried Melo’s Steaks for the first time a few days ago. I know it’s a widely-known steak house for years already, but I never really had the chance to eat there. Now that I have, I can honestly say that I love it to bits!
Travel Date: August 12, 2015 – August 16, 2015
Destination: Boracay Island, Aklan, Philippines
The first day of our Boracay travel gave me goosebumps all over, not because of fear of heights or anything like that; but with full excitement, because this trip was OUR first trip. I was so excited I couldn’t sleep the night before as I keep on imagining us walking along the sandy beach hand-in-hand. Alright, I guess that was a bit too cheesy. Don’t fret, it did happen but it wasn’t as romantic as I thought it would be. (Haha!) I did learn a lesson from this, though. The first thing you should remember when going on a trip is to not expect too much to avoid disappointments, particularly with the hotel or with the tour if you are joining group tours.
