I can’t deny it. Steak is definitely one of my favorite food! I’ve tried a lot of different steak restaurants since I was a kid. Some of them were House of Minis, Fire Lake Grill, Steak Town, and Santis Delicatessen. I tried Melo’s Steaks for the first time a few days ago. I know it’s a widely-known steak house for years already, but I never really had the chance to eat there. Now that I have, I can honestly say that I love it to bits!
I dined in at the branch located at Burgos Circle, corner Forbestown Road, at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig. I wasn’t able to take a photo of the area but they have a nice ambiance there. It was elegant and relaxing, perfect for a romantic date. They have a fine dining table setup and the service was exceptional as well. The servers were very attentive to our needs and they would entertain our questions about their menu with a pleasing personality.
Below are the food we ordered:
First off, they serve you some bread while waiting for your orders. It’s nothing special, just plain bun breads. I’m not sure if you can ask for more buns, because I just ate one of the two breads they gave me. I don’t think it’s a good idea to eat it too much for appetizer.
Next was the Creamy Pumpkin Soup
that came with the steak. I like the texture of the soup and the taste was satisfactory. I’d probably order the pumpkin soup again next time.
I ordered a Strawberry Shake
to accompany my food. The shake was just the usual kind of shake that you’ll be able to order anywhere. It doesn’t have a distinct taste to it, but since it’s a steak house and not a beverage station, I think it’s acceptable as it is.
Next up is the pasta! I ordered the Pasta Carbonara
because my companion was partly craving for some Italian cuisine. We were almost full when the pasta was brought to our table, so we weren’t able to enjoy it that much. However, the pasta was very creamy and it also tasted good! I was able to finish eating my share despite being full already. It has a pretty large serving because we had ours split into two.
Last but not the least is the steak itself! My companion and I both agreed to order the T-bone Steak
. I forgot how heavy it weighed but the serving was really big. We had our steak split into two again and it was served with mashed potatoes and vegetable sidings. We had our steak medium well and it came out really good! The steak was soft and easy to cut. Some of the steak I’ve eaten were hard and bland, but the steak of Melo’s were juicy and you can really taste the beef all throughout! And even though the steak got a little cold at the end of the meal, it still had the same good quality as the newly-cooked one. It didn’t dry out like I expected it too. Definitely one of the best steaks I’ve ever had! I can already see myself going back there again!
The food was kind of expensive, but it was really worth our money! They had large servings anyway, so we could split almost all of the food into two. I forgot the exact amount of the bill but it was around ₱3,000+, inclusive of the BDO credit card discount.
