I went to the opening day of the new branch of Landers Superstore in Otis two days ago because I had a really great time shopping at their first branch in Balintawak last month. Because of work, I arrived there at 8pm already, just an hour before closing. Landers Superstore is a membership superstore that sells a variety of imported and local merchandises, which includes electronics, apparel, health and beauty products, pastries, fresh meat and vegetables, organic food, cleaning supplies, and other grocery items. They also have a diner and a coffee shop just outside the shopping area. In their Balintawak branch, they even have a barber shop there! As for their interiors, I really like how bright their lights are and how modern the area looks. They also have two or three counters reserved for senior citizens and pregnant women. To shop there, you have to get a premium or personal membership card which costs P800 annually, or you can get an extension from your family or friend who’s already a member there, it will only costs you P400. As for me, I got my premium membership for only P400 because they had a buy one take one promo a few months ago, so I shared the fee with my co-worker and gave the extension to my sister.

Here are some of the products in Landers Superstore that caught my eye:

dark-chocolate-pretzel

dark-chocolate-strawberries

barkthins

pretzel-chips

pretzel-dips

I enjoy munching snacks both at home and at work so these pretzels and chocolate biscuits are perfect for me!

greek-yogurt

greek-style-yogurt

bulla-frozen-yogurt

yoplus

I love yogurt so I wished I could’ve bought all of it. Too bad though, because I know I wouldn’t be able to finish them.

cadburry-ice-cream

Can’t forget about the ice cream! Especially if it’s a Cadburry! I found some wine ice cream in their Balintawak branch so I was hoping to buy some here. Unfortunately, they currently don’t sell them in their Otis branch.

macaroni-and-cheese

chocolate-drink

Aaahh, macaroni and cheese paired with a hot chocolate drink, a perfect meal for breakfast! Or midnight snack if you’re anything like me. ;)

spices

They have a wide variety of spices, like curry powder and cinnamon, all in bottle form.

meat

We also bought some chicken, pork, beef, and a whole lot of seafood, mostly bangus because my mom likes it. :)

family

My mom continued looking around and my little brother started playing a game on his phone…

waiting-in-the-line

While I was stuck waiting for our turn in the long line doing nothing because my phone died. I was also planning to buy some food in their diner before we head out but the line was too long. :(

By the way, a premium membership can only give one extension membership. On the other hand, a business membership may avail of four extension memberships, but it is more expensive than the premium and it is for sole proprietorships, corporations, and the like. The annual fee for business membership is P1000, while the four extension membership is P400 each. They currently have a 20% off promo in their membership applications, both premium and business, if you’re interested in getting one.

  1. Hey, this is good to know. Bad news for the smaller outlets but good news for shoppers and credit card companies. Hahaha. I am sure they have offerings you cannot buy elsewhere… membership shopping stores are also a great way to practice the discipline of smart buying as initially, the temptation to put everything you see on the grocery cart is great. Haha.

That’s where my little brother comes in, he’s the one who tells me not to buy something if I’m undecided whether to purchase or not. :)

  2. Thank you for touring us around landers. We also went there about two weeks before. I was just saddened because i expected so much on their supersale. But most items werent on sale when we went there. Perhaps because it was the last day and most on sale were all ling gone. Weve managed to get a tub of cadburry ice cream as well. Uhihi

    • Michelle Mae

I wasn’t able to go to the sale but I heard they sold the dish-washing liquid or detergent for only P1? Not too sure if that’s true. Haha :)

  3. i was on a tour from here, hahahaha, alot of stores down here now in my country … one thing ii love about them is the fact that you can actually buy things quite cheeper here and get just about everything you need from feeding to machines and gadgets. thanks for the post. btw your pictures are cool.

  4. This is a huge store! Loved to see it. I don’t know this store, Hadn’t heard of it before reading this. But it seems like they really have everything. So much choice! Just a pity the line was too long to go their diner!

    • Michelle Mae

The first and second branch of Landers Superstore only opened this year so not a lot of people know it yet. :)

  5. It’s like S&R, right? Though I noticed in your photos that the interiors in Lander is better than in S&R. If you were to choose between the two, which one would you pick?

    • Michelle Mae

If I were to pick between those two, I’d choose Landers Superstore, because it’s closer to my home. :) I haven’t been to S&R in a long time, so I can’t compare their products and interiors. But in terms of the diner, I still like S&R better. I love their churros the most!

  6. I don’t know on which cave I’m living but I don’t know this store. Hahaha. Kill me! I’m not a fan of this kind if exclusive supermarket if that’s how you call it. I swear I never been inside S&R and do we still have makro? The products that you take photo looks really exclusive. I doubt I’ll see it in waltermart. Is the exclusive products that you can buy here are the reason for membership? Looking forward to see and feel the difference of shopping here :)

    • Michelle Mae

My family used to frequent Makro before it closed down. I don’t think there are any Makro branches anymore. I like it here before they have snacks and ice cream that I won’t find anywhere else. :)

  7. Membership shopping stores are my kryptonite! I’ve got a Landers membership that I have yet to benefit from, but I am scared to spend, hahaha! But seeing as the holidays are on the way, I may make the trip to scout for hard to find Christmas fixings that I can stock up on. Nice post!

    • Michelle Mae

Haha I’m actually hoping that they’ll have another sale again because I missed the sale they had last time. :)

  8. Wishing they had a branch closer to home. I’m in love! The moment i saw all the ice cream and yogurt products, i started to drool. Haha. How was the environment? Were there alot of people? Long lines? I would love to know. Great read! – Chardy ❤️

    • Michelle Mae

They have another branch in Balintawak if it’s any closer to you. The yogurt got me drooling too! I like the ambiance there, really relaxing and the air conditioning is cold. That’s pretty important to me. Hahaha. I went there on the opening day so there were a lot of people and the carts filled the aisles. Same with the counter lines. But when I went to the Balintawak branch, it’s not that crowded anymore. :)

  9. I’ve been meaning to check this out, but traffic hasn’t been cooperating. Looks like it’s definitely worth the visit though. We lived in subic for a while and i kinda miss having access to all this stuff .. You had me at cadbury icecream… :p

  10. I’ve been curious about Landers! I think I’ll drop by the Balintawak branch someday! Do they have better products than SnR? Love the interiors!

    • Gryselle Mae

It is really hard to compare the products of S&R and Landers. But for me, I think Landers is better. They have a lot more new items for sale that can’t be found in S&R.

  11. Which branch is more spacious the Balintawak branch or the Otis, Paco, Manila Branch and where is it better to shop between the two branches?
