To be honest, I have never heard of Kyochon Chicken before even though it’s been in South Korea since 1991. I only found out how famous it is after it opened here in the Philippines. My cousin told me how much she liked their spicy chicken because it was really good despite her tongue burning! What got me interested in Kyochon is their promise of serving honest and healthy chicken using all natural ingredients. They also use Canola Oil in frying their chickens, which is said to reduce risk of heart disease because it is lower in cholesterol.

Another important fact here is that Kyochon Chicken is not a fast-food restaurant. They actually take their time in cooking the chickens, that’s why you have to wait 15-22 minutes before your food can be served. The server will inform you of that upon ordering. Personally, I don’t mind waiting for my orders if it means I get to eat quality food.

My little brother and I ordered their Combo 1, which includes 10 pcs. of chicken wings, one salad, two rice, and two drinks. You are free to choose whichever flavor of chicken you’d like. Same with the salad and the drinks.

salad with orange dressing

Our first choice of salad was already unavailable so the server suggested us their salad with orange dressing. I was a little unsure of this at first but it was really good when I tasted it! It was sweet and a little sour at the same time with a tangy flavor.

As for the chicken, we asked our server if we could order two different flavors and divide it equally. She said yes! So we had five Red series chicken wings and five Honey Series chicken wings. Both of the flavors were so rich and really yummy!! The Red Series wasn’t very spicy for me at first taste but it got hotter after each bite. I would’ve ordered another combo if it wasn’t so late already that time.

That’s me and my little brother taking a photo with the awesome wall design of Kyochon! I specifically chose that table because of the wall. LOL! I would definitely come back here again to try their Original Series and Soonsal Series! My little brother liked their food too, saying it won’t be the last time he eats at Kyochon!

  1. I don’t know if that is how they do it in S. Korea pero here, all these Korean Chicken restaurants would sell 5 pieces, 10 pieces. It is kinda misleading and as a BIG LOVER of chicken wings… I say this is INJUSTICE! Setting that aside, I have eaten na there and yes, masarap nga naman siya. :)

Lol! I hope I’ll be able to try authentic S. Korean chicken wings soon then! By the way, which flavors did you try? :)

  2. I have not heard about that Korean restaurant as well, I don’t think they have branches here in Cebu, but if they have, I’ll surely try their food. I actually like how you able to describe the foods, from the narratives you have provided for your photos to how they have rhymed together. Thank you so much for writing about it.
